My main goal for this zine was to persuade the head of the University of Vermont Art department to allocate 3 class credits for digital art teaching assistants. Prior to making this zine digital art was the only course within the department that teaching assistants didn’t receive credit for (despite the position entailing the same amount of time as any other courses students assisted in). Rather than just providing a written statement about why this seemed unfair; I felt that providing a visual aid that showcased my understanding of the course would be a more successful way of achieving my goal.
After presenting the zine to the department head and discussing the position, she agreed to
grant me and all future digital art teaching assistants 3 class credits.
